Things That Go Squeak in the Night // A dog owner's life pt. 1

A year ago this summer I adopted the cutest fluff ball of love ever, Clementine.
The SPCA said that her previous owners surrendered her because she was "too much". To which I say she is too much LOVE! She has the sweetest heart of any animal I have ever known.
She is intuitive. When ever I am sick or upset she can tell and calms down and curls up right next to my belly and lets me pet her and vent until I feel better. She can tell when I'm happy and excited and she is playful and jumps up and down and shows me the true joy of living.

Clementine is a 12 pound terrier mix of some kind. She is the smallest dog I or my family has ever owned. Her size amazes me sometimes. I'll look at her head and think about how tiny her brain must be and that it is so incredible that her small brain can contain so much personality and life!
She can be so sassy and so loving at the same time. She is very smart and knows how to sit and lie down! When I take her on walks and then head back towards our apartment she knows where we live and can remember the path we usually take.

She has changed my life style in so many positive ways. Having a dog forces you to get outside more. I have to walk her so she can use the bathroom, let her run around and play like dogs are supposed to. Being outside has so many benefits for us both. She keeps me active and healthy and makes me to take breaks through out the day.
I love taking her on outings with me. We make a day of going to the pet store and the dog park. I have done so much research on all of the dog friendly shops and restaurants in town because I hate leaving her at home alone.
With Clementine I feel like I go places and do things that i wouldn't normally do by myself. She is kind of a distraction and helps me get over little anxieties I have.

Clemetine has also introduced me to so many new people. (Dog people are the best kinds of people!) When I am out walking her or at the dog park she is a good subject to talk about to help break the ice. Meeting someone with a dog is a good excuse to go up and talk to them if you have a dog too and you immediately have something in common!
This post was kinda all over the place, but I just have so many things to say about Clem that I get my words jumbled. You will be hearing much more about Clementine on this blog, so get ready:)
